Gyeongbu (seoul ~ Busan) Expressway Expansion Project, Cheonan Section
Since completion of the first expressway in Korea, Seoul ~ Busan Expressway in 1970, Samwhan has been participating in every highway project issued under the govemment's nation development plan. The 60.5km-long Expressway, linking Suwon and Cheongwon section of Seoul ~ Busan Expressway was constructed by Samwhan. Samwhan's work portion covered total length of 8.36km with of 32.6km (6lanes) and 6 bridges. The project was completed in 1993. Samwhan is carrying out Gyeongbu Expressway Expansion Project, Gumi~Dongdaegu Section which is 11.2km long and 37.8km wide with 6 lanes including 25 bridges (total length : 1,374m). Target completion is scheduled to be the end of the year 2003. Besides, Samwhan has also taken part in honam Expressway Construction Project, 30.12km long and 13.2km wide with 2 lanes including an interchange and 15 bridges, completed in 197, and Daegu~Masan Expressway Expansion Project, section Ihyeon~Seongseo, 3.4km long and 51.8m wide with 10 lanes including 10 bridges has as well been completed by Samwhan in November 1999.
